Extra Curricular
At first we encourage pupils to simply take part in extra curricular activities and enjoy doing so. Secondly we select a spread of activities from nearly 40 on offer from music, drama and dance through to a range of 20 sports and outdoor interests. The third encouragement is to achieve personal best performances or rewarding levels of interest via individual effort, exploration of the possibilities and teamwork.
There is a strong citizenship element involved in both the Primary and Senior Department programmes. Pupils are encouraged to respond positively to world and natural appeals… whether natural disasters, conflict and suffering or opportunities to support particular groups in society. For example Barnado’s, Treetops Hospice, Headway, Sport for Sparks and causes sponsored by individual pupils regularly benefit from the efforts of the Ockbrook School community.
