Ockbrook School Leavers’ Association (OSLA)
We are very pleased to announce the re-launch of our Leavers’ Association which we have named OSLA (Ockbrook School’s Leavers’ Association). This new Association is in it’s infancy stage yet we are confident that as the word spreads and membership numbers increase, we will be able to organise a wide variety of exciting events which will hopefully enable pupils to communicate with each other and reminise about school experiences, as well as maintaining their interest in the future of Ockbrook School.
OSLA opens the way for Ockbrook School Leavers to reunite!
March 2009 - OLSA committee have had their first meeting. Four very enthusiastic past students met together with Mrs Saunders (Head of Sixth Form) to share ideas on the re-launch of the former Old Girls’ Association. Through bubbly conversation and exciting discussion, plans were put in place and jobs allocated to ensure the success of this venture.
The capable Committee so far consists of Sarah Haynes, Lexi Rudd, Rebecca Barrowcliffe and Caroline Mitchell, who brought with them a range of expertise, so it soon became clear that this was going to be a first class team. Even so, more committee members would be most welcome.
As a relative new comer Mrs Saunders is always impressed by the power of loyalty and genuine friendship that is almost innate to the school which appears to continue in “life after Ockbrook” too! The Committee feel it is a privilege to be able to assist the launch of OSLA thus creating more opportunities for this “Special Ockbrook Spirit” to spread through the anticipation and joy of reunion.
