Welcome

Developing the whole person is at the heart of everything we do at Ockbrook School. From the first steps in the School at Nursery or Primary level, right through to Sixth Form, we focus on developing the life skills of our pupils, as well as their academic ability.

Around the School we pride ourselves on the happy atmosphere that touches everyone. It is a calm and relaxed learning environment in which friendships flourish and pupils achieve.  School is the place that you come to learn, enjoy new adventures and make friends. It is this warm mix of experiences that we encourage in the day-to-day lives of our pupils. After all, we want our pupils to reflect on their achievements with pride and confidence, to value the lasting friendships they have developed and to have an appetite for fun.

We are proud of our history as one of the oldest girls’ schools in the UK. We were established in 1799 and still maintain a Christian ethos whilst welcoming pupils from all faiths.

The commitment we all share in the pursuit of excellence within the School, is a testiment to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in the School – from teaching and support staff, to students, parents and governors. Our Ofsted inspection of Early Years provision in June 2008 described the quality and standards of our nursery education as ‘outstanding’ and the ISI inspection from February 2006 reported “the school is successful in achieving its aims and aspirations. It meets the pupils’ needs in fulfilling their academic potential, developing their spiritual and moral awareness and promoting high levels of achievement across a wide range of activities”.

We hope you will wish to join us for a visit to experience first hand all that we have to offer.
